BTT off-road circuits

If you you love action we propose a ride off-road with a guide:

Mountain Route  - dominated by the Mount Pico volcano

Verdelho Route - dominated by the vineyards of Unesco World Patrimony

Come enjoy nature in its purest state in a BTT Bike circuit and discover Pico Island's magnitude and the magnificent landscapes at you feet.

The route starts in Vila de São Roque. It then goes up to the base of the mountain through veredas/canadas (old paths and trails) once used by inhabitants in their pedestrian travels. At the same time you can enjoy the breathtaking view over S. Jorge, Faial and Graciosa Isles.

It then continues onwards to Lagoa do Capitão, characterized by its unique natural beauty. Throughout the route you will find an enormous variety of vegetation from endemic species and vineyard to crop fields.

Since it is an Active Tourism activity and it demands some physical tension and stress, the organization suggests:

- Wear protection garments adequate to the activity: light clothes, cushioned trunks or trousers, hard sole shoes, glasses.

- The participant must previously inform the organization of any type of health condition.
